Therapy is your time.

What is therapy?

Therapy, also known as talk therapy or psychotherapy, is what mental health professionals provide to those seeking specialized support. This is also commonly known as counseling. Its purpose is to therapeutically support people as they identify issues that are causing stress or hardship in their everyday lives.

Reasons for seeking therapy can vary greatly. Some people seek out mental health support for complex issues like depression and trauma, while others desire a safe space to talk about difficult feelings triggered by everyday stress, relationship issues, grief and loss, medical conditions, work-related stress, or a specific traumatic event.

Pros of Therapy:

Therapy can teach new and helpful ways of coping with distress.

Therapy can help you find healing from depression, anxiety, trauma, and other mental health conditions or issues.

Therapy can give you a chance to speak with someone unbiased and trustworthy.

Cons of Therapy:

It may feel uncomfortable talking with someone you do not know about deeply personal issues.

It can take time to see progress and feel like a major time commitment; not a “quick fix.”

Does it work?

The short answer is…yes. If you are willing, receptive, honest, and patient, therapy can be one of the greatest gifts you can give yourself!
